How to get here
Viking Heliskiing is located in the historic village of Siglufjörður in northern Iceland. New this season, guests will be staying at one of the finest lodgings in Iceland, the Siglo Hotel. Transfer time from the Akureyri Airport by private shuttle is approximately one hour, with neck-craning views of the mighty Atlantic Ocean on one side and the humbling mountains of the Troll peninsula on the other.
Located mid-Atlantic, Iceland is close to both Europe and North America with average flight times between three-four hours from most Western European cities and five-seven hours from North America. All international flights to Iceland arrive at Keflavik International Airport located just outside of Iceland’s capital Reykjavik in the south. The main airline that fly direct to Iceland year-round are Icelandair. However, other airlines, such as Easy jet, SAS and Delta also fly to Iceland. Here is a list of airlines flying to Iceland.
Onward flights to northern Iceland depart from Reykjavik Domestic Airport. To get from Keflavik International Airport to Reykjavik Domestic Airport, you can either book a private shuttle through Viking Heliskiing or simply take a taxi; the transfer time is approximately 40 minutes.
Guests can book domestic flights to Akureyri Airport with Air Iceland. There are normally five flights daily between Reykjavik and Akureyri and you will find all information about flight times at airicelandconnect.com
Our staff will collect you at the Arrivals Lounge at Akureyri Airport and transfer you to the Siglo Hotel in Siglufjörður in approximately one hour. If requested in advance, you also have the option to be picked up by helicopter for the 20-minute flight.
Then it’s also possible to rent a car at the International Airport in Keflavik and drive to Siglo Hotel and this spectacular drive takes approx. 5 hours.
