How to get to Viking Heliskiing

Nestled in the small historic village of Siglufjörður in north Iceland, we couldn’t ask for a better place to run our Viking Heliskiing operation. Plus, with Iceland located between North America and Europe, it’s the perfect vacation destination. The average flight times are around 3-4 hours from most Western European cities and between 5 and 7 hours from North America. Please, see all airlines flying directly to Iceland from Europe and North America HERE.

Once you arrive at Keflavík International Airport, you need to travel to Reykjavík, which takes approximately 45 minutes. You can choose to get there by bus or taxi, both of which are readily available and easy to book at the airport.

From Reykjavík domestic airport, book a flight to Akureyri (a 35-minute flight). You can book the flight via Icelandair.

Our driver(s) will greet you at the arrivals lounge at Akureyri Airport and transfer you to Sigló Hotel in Siglufjörður, which takes about an hour. During the drive, you can enjoy the unique Icelandic scenery, including Eyjafjörður, the longest fjord in Iceland.

If requested in advance, you also have the option to be picked up by helicopter at Akureyri Airport for a quick 20-minute flight to Siglufjörður.

Alternatively, you can rent a car at Keflavík International Airport and drive to Sigló Hotel, enjoying stunning natural landscapes along the way. The drive takes approximately 5 hours.
