Beginner

Can ski/snowboard the blue and red slopes in ski resorts (Europe), easy, not steep slopes with no problem but never skied/snowboarded freeride off piste.

Intermediate

Already been skiing/snowboarding for a few years and have experience with skiing/snowboarding off piste in the freeride zone - easy terrain.

Advanced

Skilled in the freeride zones for a couple of years, has no problem with variable snow conditions and is ok with intermediate freeride terrain.

Expert

Highly skilled skier/snowboarder with years on the snow. Very good at freeriding and can ski/snowboard the hardest freeride terrain with vertical drops up to 5.000 feet in variable snow conditions.

Good to Know

If you fly to Akureyri airport, please remember that Keflavík International Airport is about 45min away from the Reykjavík domestic airport (from where do you fly to Akureyri). You can get to Reykjavík via taxi or bus or book our private shuttle with us
It’s good to bear in mind to have some spare time for travelling in between places.
For guests flying from Reykjavík to Akureyri with Icelandair, we kindly ask you to book flight FI036 (lunchtime) or flight FI050 (evening time) for your arrival. If you cannot book any of these two flights because your arrival time in Iceland is different, book another flight and please let us know your arrival time via email at info@vikingheliskiing.com.
On your departure day, we recommend you book the last flight from Akureyri to Reykjavík FI051 (the departure day is still your skiing day).
Each guest needs to bring their own ski/snowboard boots. We recommend that they are not brand new.
The package doesn’t include cancellation and/or injury insurance. We recommend booking the insurance for cancellation and/or injury via the insurance company we trust, Global Rescue.
Even though the tip system doesn't exist in Iceland, we do have it as our team consists of people from all over the world. The tip is not included in the package price, and if you like your stay with us, you can tip in cash but also in card form. Tips are equally split between the team.
